Staggering my way back

I know many of you noticed that for the last few months, I haven't been so good at replying to blog comments.

It was something I did religiously for the first 15 months or so after I began blogging in February 2010. I adored having the interaction with you guys, and I know some of you enjoyed it, too.

But then....well, life got in the way. Blame the crazy schedule in the months surrounding my book release. Blame the divorce. Blame the day job. Blame the aliens, since they make good scapegoats for most things, including the fact that I showed up to work yesterday wearing mismatched shoes.

No matter, my virtual book tour is over, as is my one-year term blogging at The Debutante Ball. Though I've got a speaking engagement/book signing in Portland this weekend, that's the last time I'm scheduled for any big book-related events until mid-October.

Can I get a collective WOOOHOOOO!?!?!?!

Oh, there will still be copy edits to do, new books to write, promotional obligations to fulfill, and sex toy collections to alphabetize. Still, I'm going to do my very best to get back to replying to blog comments on a regular basis. I can't promise to do it every day, but I'm going to try.

Er, is there anything you want to talk about?

*crickets*

Right. Um, well, just a reminder that you have until noon on Sunday, September 11 to harass friends, family, or strangers to purchase Making Waves, and then email me your proof for a chance to win a signed copy. Details are here.

Now how about a group hug?

Hey, who grabbed my butt?

Wasn't me! My hands are right here, see?

Congratulations, Tawna!

We seem to say that a lot, but you deserve it!

I'm buying a copy for my sister on Amazon and having it shipped to her.

I know, it's pretty lazy, and nowhere near creative enough to be considered for your contest, but still, it was just her birthday the other day.

Oooh, let's blame the aliens! That sounds like fun.

And, WOOOHOOOO!!! Hope you actually find some time to breathe for a while. :)

I'm with Linda G. It's the Aliens!!!!!!!!!

Hope you've enjoyed the the fun surrounding your new release. It's such a fun time. I have my very first book signing next Saturday and I'm getting a bit nervous. Not to mention a radio show tonight. It's exciting to go through a debut novel release, a little scary, but a WHOLE LOT OF FUN.

Thanks for sharing your journey with us. :)

You sound like an extremely busy person with more commitments than time! Oh wait... Yep, that's me too!
love the blog, Tawna.

I'm sorry, I am incapable of hugging without placing hands on someone's butt.

It's a little awkward with guys, but after a minute or two of hugging, they usually are ok with it.

Wow, Tawna, all done with your first book promotion-- that is pretty huge. Put your feet up and raise a glass, girlfriend, you deserve it.

New books to write?!?! Yay-yaah!

Sex toys to alphabetize. Absolutely!

Just a regular Friday night, right?

Sarah, I'll take all the congrats I can get. Thank you!!

Matthew, hell yes, that counts! Especially if you share the heartfelt birthday note you wrote to accompany it :)

Linda G, aliens are so damn useful. I can blame them for anything.

lynnrush, woohoo! Congrats on the book signing and radio show. Let me know how it goes.

Writer Pat Newcombe, I think the words "busy" and "writer" just naturally go together like "beer" and "pizza."

Patrick, falling into unconsciousness does tend to make people less resistant to the butt pats.

BarbN, thanks! There's still plenty to do, but at least I get to add sleep back to my repertoire now.

Kelly, the books and the sex toys probably go together (at least if those last few scenes in MAKING WAVES are any indication!)

Thanks for reading, guys!

Hey Tawna :)

I hope you know we all love hearing from you, but from my perspective, you don't have to reply to every comment. I suspect as your books take off that could be a full-time job by itself.

I'm just as happy frequenting busy blogs where the blogger pops into the comments stream randomly. It's actually an incentive to comment (will I be chosen and replied to?)...or maybe that's just me.

Nothing wrong with a little goosing between friends, is there?

Cheers on your fab book -- keep promoting! We'll be here.

Um... book signing? This weekend?
Might one ask where? One did not see this mentioned on the calendar. It's probably somewhere in bold font right here, you fool! but one is frustratingly near-sighted at times.
Please do tell. Where this weekend? When this weekend? Enquiring fans want to know!

Patrick grabbed your ass as well? Huh. I'd wondered whose hand that was....

And congrats on life slowing down a bit, good lady! Until the next book comes out, that is. :)

Angela, that's not a bad idea, though every time I'm tempted to try it, I worry I'll piss off whoever I don't reply to.

The Merry, it's in Portland for the Rose City Romance Writers, so I'm not sure it's open to the public (which is why it's not on the calendar). It's at the Sylvan PCC campus at 10 a.m. Saturday morning, and I'll be talking about social media for authors.

Simon, Patrick's sneaky that way. Whatever you do, don't bend over.
